Ingredients:
Water, Sunflower Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Emulsifying Wax, Glycerin, Stearic Acid, Cocoa Butter, Germall
Key Ingredients Explained:
Sunflower Oil - Research shows sunflower oil “contains higher linoleic acid concentration relative to olive oil.” – a quality that makes sunflower oil a high performing moisturizing agent.
Grapeseed Oil - Contains moisturizing properties that protect skin and keep it soft and supple. Contains high levels of Vitamin E, which has natural antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties to protect against oxidative damage. Research shows Vitamin E also naturally protects from sun damage.
Glycerine - A moisturizing agent that works by pulling water into the outer layer of the skin from the air and deeper levels of the skin. Especially beneficial for dry sensitive skin - studies show skincare products with at least 20% glycerin substantially increased skin moisture. Plays a role in cutaneous elasticity and epidermal barrier repair, indicating it can be used to sooth and calm skin. Protects skin against dry, cold conditions, such as winter xerosis. One study found glycerin was a more effective humectant than others commonly used in skincare.
Stearic Acid - Acts as an emollient and emulsifier shown to protect skin's surface against water loss and help boost skin's protective barrier. Naturally found in vegetable oil, shea butter, and cocoa butter.
Cocoa Butter - According to a Healthline article, “The fat in cocoa butter forms a protective barrier over skin to hold in moisture. Cocoa butter is also rich in natural plant compounds called phytochemicals. These substances may improve blood flow to the skin and slow skin aging by protecting against damage from the sun's harmful UV rays.” Another study indicates cocoa butter has anti-aging benefits due to its ability to protect against photo-aging.
